Since the company was founded in 1922, Jaguar has evolved from the production of motorcycle sidecars
to become one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of premium sedans and sports cars.
The Jaguar company started production with the pre-war 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 Litter models which used
engines designed by the Standard Motor Company. The 1.5 Litter 4 cylinder engine was still supplied
by Standard but the two larger six cylinder ones were made in house. These cars have become known
unofficially as the Mark IV's.

- The Jag is a serious long distance tourer. Highway driving is refined, elegant and nearly
effortless. Too bad we have too many whiners (and lousy drivers) hear in the US to have an Autobahn
to stretch the cat's legs, that is what she was born for.

- I bought a used one to make sure this was indeed the car everyone said it was. I didn't want to
make a $75,000 mistake and take a bath on a new one if I didn't like it. I plan on trading this one
in within the next year for a new 2004(lighter body with 390hp). That’s how happy, convinced and
pleased I am with Jaguar. Anyone considering this car will most likely feel the same way.
